We have a dream that all Edison students will become leaders in some capacity in their future schools, in their homes, in the community, and in the world. We nurture student leadership by creating opportunities for students to exercise leadership skills, be responsible for important aspects of our campus life, and make decisions about enrichment offerings at our school. We also expect that they learn how to lead through service. Three big branches of our student leadership development are:
- Student Council - We have approximately 10 officer positions and as many representative positions as we need for committees and other school tasks.
- Wellness Committee
- Fundraising Committee
- Yearbook Committee
- Monday Morning Assemblies
- Family Friday Helpers
- Spirit Week & Event Planners
- Peer Tutoring & Buddies - We have opportunities for older students to mentor, role model for, and read with younger students.
- Chavistas Service Clubs - We have a very large chapter of Chavistas (even a waiting list!), and the students learn about governance, community service, and policies that affect our community and their lives.
Be a leader at Edison by listening to the needs of others and taking action!
